Medina: starting from 5 pm, thousands of moslem have gathered before the gate of Mosque an-Nabawi. We formed a group of about 50 men each (ladies have they own groups). Chatting or praying we are and all share hospitality; no matter what nations we are (no racism in Islam). When adzan (caller for pray) maghrib (dawn prayer) all of us broke the fast with zamzam water or juice; thus prayed for the sake now and hereafter.

Mecca: paying the zakat al-fitr with 3 kilos of staple food (rice, wheat, or barley) or currency equal to it. Moslem pay the zakat al-fitri once a year before the ied al-fitri prayer. We perform it as obedience to Allah and His prophet. Later on, the zakat will distributed to all poor moslem so they too could have feast in the ied al-fitri.
